Fiverr logo animation – what you need to know

If there’s one place where Fiverr shines above practically every other freelance platform, it’s in the logo animation service segment. There’s a literal horde of freelance logo animators available for hire on Fiverr, so much that it can be a little bit daunting to find a perfect match.

I created this guide to help address this problem. Well, this problem and the fact that in addition to skilled logo animators, Fiverr is also notoriously famous for housing amateurs and hacks who parade themselves as the best you could ever get.

I’ll tell you what to look out for when hiring a logo animator when you use Fiverr’s logo animation service. Then I’ll round it all up with some recommendations of what I think are some great logo animators on Fiverr.

First things first, can you hire a good logo animator on Fiverr?

The simple answer is yes. For the long of it, it takes knowing your way around Fiverr to pick a great logo animator out of the many (both good and bad) that form up Fiverr’s logo animation service.

Fiverr has a really low barrier of entry for creatives. That’s compared to other platforms offering logo animation services like Toptal. Anyone, and I mean anyone, can just up today and create a logo animation gig while claiming to be the 21st century Pablo Picasso.

You’ll see a lot of logo animation gigs from these relatively unqualified guys (and gals) on Fiverr’s logo animation section. And what most of them do is subscribe to the services of certain animation tools and then use generic templates to create animated logos for unsuspecting Fiverr consumers.

If you wanted some generic animated logo, I’d suggest you log on to those logo animation tools yourself and save the $10 – $50 dollars these guys charge. Never mind the fact that such generic animated logos rarely ever create any additional value for your brand or business.

The skilled logo animators on Fiverr are dispersed among this bunch, but it takes a trained eye to single them out. Here’s how to train your eye.

What makes a great logo animator on Fiverr

For the detailed breakdown of what defines a skilled logo animator, check out my guide to hiring a logo animator;

To summarize;

1. They have excellent samples

And not just personal samples; you want to check out samples from other clients they’ve worked with on Fiverr. Fiverr is cool in that it allows animators on the platform to showcase snippets of the work they’ve done for other business owners like you. These samples provide a better and more honest way to grade the work of the logo animator.

I’ve seen logo animators with otherwise excellent samples that they cannot recreate for buyers like you, which most times means they didn’t really create those samples.

What makes a good animated logo?

It doesn’t feel generic

If the transitions and graphical elements feel too familiar, it was probably created with a template. You’re not getting anything special.

It paints an image that represents the brand

The best-animated logos tell a simple story in their short 2-5s time lapse. If it’s just a mix of wooshes and swooshes that don’t mean anything, then it’s not bringing any value to the target audience.

It’s catchy

It’s not boring, and it’s also not overly complicated. Catchy logos use what might come off as simple design elements and transitions to appear sophisticated.

2. They’ve worked with some solid brands

It mustn’t be Coca-Cola or Apple. Any brand with a solid market and internet presence will do. If a freelance logo animator (like this guy who’s created logos for Fiverr themselves) has top brands on their client list, that tells you that they have the skills to create animated logos that fly for top brands.

Big bonus if they’ve actually worked for a notable top brand. Those types are rare on Fiverr, just a hand full of them, but the logos they create are absolute peaches.

3. They have solid reviews

The definition of a solid review profile on Fiverr, especially as it concerns logo animators, is not as you would expect. And it’s a trap many first-time buyers fall into.

On Fiverr, reviews can be faked. As a matter of fact, a significant proportion of the reviews you’ll see are indeed fake. To make sure you don’t get influenced by fake reviews, here’s what you need to do:

Don’t focus on the positive reviews

Fake reviews are usually positive reviews. So while a good number of positive reviews suggests a freelance logo animator is good at what they do, you don’t need to ponder over them.

What do the negative reviews say?

Negative reviews provide a much clearer perspective to assess an animator on Fiverr. Note that a single or even multiple negative reviews don’t automatically mean an unskilled animator. You want to check what the negative reviews say and the freelancer’s response. Also, check to see if there’s a theme with the negative reviews – are the aggrieved buyers saying the same thing?

Check out the positive to negative review ratio

Another objective way to assess reviews of logo animators is to assess the negative to positive review ratio. Like I said, one, two, three negative reviews doesn’t necessarily make a freelance animator bad. If there’s an excess of positive reviews compared to a small number of negatives, then the animator might be good enough, especially if they already tick the other checkboxes.

Finding and hiring a logo animation expert on Fiverr

You now know what makes a great logo animator. Let’s quickly cover how to actually hire one on Fiverr.

Step 1: search for a logo animator

Image showing search bar for logo animators on Fiverr
It’s a better choice to use the search bar when trying to find skilled logo animators on Fiverr

Fiverr has a separate post a request section called the Buyers Request, where would-be buyers post requests for freelancers to bid on. Except you have very, very specific requirements for an animated logo, I advise against using this route.

Instead, just search for ‘animated logo designer’ using the Fiverr search bar or the search snippet below. The reason for this is you generally have no control over who can bid on your request once you’ve filled, and in most cases, the guys who’ll bid are the not so skilled guys I talked about earlier.

Note that this is only true for specific segments of the Fiverr marketplace; with some segments, for example, Android development, skilled developers attend to buyer requests.

Step 2: screen using the criteria I outlined above

Make a selection from the list of freelance logo animators returned by the search, and then screen the guys on your list using the criteria I described earlier.

Note that your choice freelancer should tick the first two boxes of stellar portfolio and client samples plus that of having noteworthy clients before you should bother assessing them based on their reviews.

Step 3: contact the animator with your requirements

You’ll find that most freelance logo animators on Fiverr respond on time; that’s because there’s a penalty for not replying to a buyer (like you). Use the contact now button to send a message, and make sure to include your requirements.

Be detailed about what you want so there’s no room for confusion both freelancer-side and on your side.

Step 4: purchase the gig or have a custom offer drawn up for you

Image showing packages for Fiverr logo animation service
You can directly pick a package it fits your needs; or ask the logo animator to send a custom quote

On Fiverr, freelance logo animators have pre-drafted packages for routine animation jobs. Much like you would purchase an item off Amazon, you can simply click on the package and purchase the gig if its deliverables match up to your requirements.

Otherwise, you can ask for what’s called a Custom Offer, where the animator will send you a quote based on the requirements you described to him/her and your negotiated price.

Step 5: pay and submit your requirements

Remember to make sure your requirements are detailed, more so when you’re completing the final order form. This is important because, on Fiverr, the requirements you submit will double as your contract document. If there’s any problem with the final delivery, you can refer back to the requirements you submitted when filling for a rework or refund.

And speaking about reworks and refunds;

Is your money protected when you hire a logo animator on Fiverr?

Yes. One of the nice things about Fiverr is that they run a rather reputable buyer protection program. If your selected freelance logo animator fails to produce an animated logo as per your agreement, you can file a dispute.

In the dispute, you can ask for either a rework of the animated logo or an outright refund of the money you spent. But remember, the dispute will be assessed by Fiverr staff based on the agreed requirements of the project, which is why it’s important that you explicitly state all that was agreed on when filling the gig requirement forms.

How much should you expect to pay for an animated logo on Fiverr?

Fiverr is literally ground zero for cheap things, so you might head into using the Fiverr animation service with the mindset of paying $5 – $10 for an animated logo.

Except you’re looking for another run of the mill animated logo, which actually does little to provide any additional value to your brand or business, you should skip the $10 animated logo gigs. Also, skip the $10 – $50 animated logo gigs while you’re at it.

For a truly customized, non-template, eye-catching logo, expect to pay between $100 – $500 on Fiverr. It might sound a bit much, but like I explained in my guide to hiring a freelance logo animator, animation, whether for logos or outright feature-length content, requires expertise, skill and time to create. The guys who do a great job of custom animating every transition and graphic charge a pretty penny for their services.

Top recommended logo animators to hire using the Fiverr Animation service

Now, if you’d rather skip the entire hassle and head on straight to hiring a skilled logo animator on Fiverr, you can use my list of recommended logo animators on Fiverr.

Heads up, I get a commission when you purchase an animation gig (or any other gig for that matter) using the links below. It comes at no cost to you, and you can trust that there was no bias in picking these guys. I chose the best of the best based on the criteria I outlined above (which means you can do it yourself), and I’m confident you wouldn’t have any regrets whatsoever.

Arminbeciragic

If I were to recommend one logo animator above every other animator on the Fiverr platform, it’d be this guy. A client list that includes Fiverr itself says all you need to know about the quality of work you’d get if you did hire this guy.

But keep past clients aside, Armin’s animated logos pack everything you’d want in the perfect animated logo and then some. I mean, take a look.

Transitions are smooth as silk, there’s a pop to the graphics, a lot of moving parts, but still, everything manages to appear sooo so smooth and clutter-free. Even more impressive is the way these animated logos tell enough of a story in less than five seconds. I don’t know any of these brands, and this is the first time i’ve seen their logos, but I can tell from afar what their business is. That’s sick.

I could continue rambling, but you get the idea.

But he’s not cheap, though. For his base logo animation package, you got to shell out a hefty $250, and that’ll get you an animated logo without any background music or sound effects, so not exactly ideal. What you want is the $450 package – that includes all the extras you need to make a splendid animated logo.

The only downside (albeit minor) I could identify with this guy is he doesn’t create logos from scratch. You must be ready with your logo before he can animate them. That’s normal practice, I should add. Logo animators animate logos – not design them, although many other logo animation services bundle it all into one package.

What sets this Fiverr animator apart?

Competitive pricing

Despite what might come off as sky-high rates – I certainly can’t afford Armin right now – for the value he delivers, this is still a competitively priced logo animation gig. You’ll be hard-pressed to find another seller offering the same quality of work at the same or a lower price point.

Top draw quality

Armin’s animated logos stand out from the crowd, and that’s putting it lightly.

The drawbacks

Long delivery periods

You’ll have to wait a whole 30 days before you receive the final animated logo if you decide to make use of this Fiverr animation service. Not many people have that kind of patience; maybe you do but take note.

Foundry designs

Now Armin is good, but if you wanted the absolute best in the business, you should check out Foundry Designs. This is, in fact, an animation group rather than a solo animator and what they’ll create for you are animated logos with flair and panache.

I’ll describe their quality of work as Armin level on steroids, and it shows all over. These guys have worked with multinational brands like Nike, Adidas, Red bull and Bloomingdale’s. I especially love the minimalist form factor of many of their designs. It’s sleek, it’s catchy, and it’s everything you’d want if you were trying to give your brand that air of suave sophistication.

But it gets interesting; their base logo animation service without sound effects and background music will set you back a hefty $2000. If you wanted sounds on, you’ll have to throw in another $2000 for a cumulative $4000. That’s insane money to charge for an animated logo, and I’m just going to go ahead and assume not many people can afford that.

This is an animated logo service made for the top guys. It’s drop-dead expensive, yes. But, are you going to get a similar level of quality and preciseness anywhere else? Answer is, No. If you’re the Nikes, Adidas or Red bulls of the business world, or if you at least dream of reaching that level, then this is a good place to start, provided you have the money to spend.

What sets this Fiverr animator apart

Absolute peak of animation quality

Very few other animators on Fiverr can rival the sheer class of animated logos these guys put out.

Better onboarding and service process

These guys are seasoned professionals. You’re paying seasoned professional money; so you get a more than professional service experience.

The drawbacks

It’s freakishly expensive

If you’re an entrepreneur still trying to bootstrap your business, you might think to use the $4000 quote for other more pressing pursuits.

Felipunker

Now enough with the expensive stuff, let’s get back to the baseline. Felipunker is my value-for-money spent logo animator on Fiverr. So while the quality might not match what you’d get with Armin, it’s still a more than good enough logo animation service.

His works are classy enough, catchy enough and, more importantly, pocket friendly enough. Base animation gig starts at $45; if you want sound effects and other extras, you’ll have to pay $120. And, I can assure you that that’s about as cheap as it gets for this level of animation quality.

What sets this Fiverr Animator apart?

The price obviously

Again, this is about as cheap as you can get for this level of logo animation quality.

Faster service

For the two other Fiverr animation services, you need to wait at least a week to get your logo animation. This animator does it in under three days.

The drawbacks

Not exactly the best quality

It’s good enough, but if you wanted the absolute best, you know where to look.

Cyan_cube

Cyan makes up my second budget entry of logo animators I’d recommend on Fiverr. And really, this service is very much similar to the Fellpunker one.

The main difference is that this is even cheaper but with an ever so slight drop in the quality of produced animated logos. Take a look.

Still, it’s by far a very pocket-friendly logo animation service on Fiverr. I’ll take it over the Fellpunker gig if I was cash strapped and wanted a decent enough logo to represent my brand.

What sets this Fiverr animator apart?

Cheap

The cheapest option on this list with good enough quality to make a decent logo animation.

The drawbacks

Not the best quality available

Same with Fellpunker’s service, this is not the best on Fiverr, but if you’re short on cash, it works just fine.

Vitorgrr

The final logo animator on my recommended list is Vitor. He’s is a top-rated seller on Fiverr, and that’s a pretty tough badge to earn. It adds a bit of credibility to his already stellar logo animation service.

Quality is exceptional, precision and brand compliance are on point, so why did this logo animator make bottom of this list? Well, it’s their pricing. I would say that the quality of work doesn’t really exceed what you’d get with Armin; it’s also not too far off from what you’d get with the other non-pro logo designers on this list.

Still, base pricing for this animation gig is in the high $330. If you wanted the premium package, which is the one that gets you all the fancy transitions and whatnots, you’d have to pay almost $960. Steep, in my opinion, but it’s fair to say that for the level of professionalism and’ customer support’ you get, it’s not exactly overpriced.

Armin has a history of not replying promptly to messages. His delivery period is 30 days. Vitor is more responsive and delivers in under 14 days. Is the shorter wait period and delivery timeline worth the extra $500? I’ll leave you to decide.

What sets this Fiverr animator apart?

Excellent quality work

Vitor’s work is very much on par with what you’d get from other Pro animators like Armin.

Better communication and service delivery

You’ll get a better, more rounded logo animation service as compared to Armin.

The drawbacks

A bit pricey

The quality of work is great, but I just feel it could be a little bit cheaper.

To conclude

That about sums it up with what you need to land at the doorstep of a competent Fiverr logo animator. If you’d like to dig deeper, see my guide to hiring a freelance animator.
